How to Clean a Grinder

At the same almost any accessory, the grinders require maintenance to prolong their good performance and extend their life. You don’t need to clean grinders daily. But, when you start feeling some resistance when turning it, it’s time to get the dirt and resin residue out and clean your grinder.

If you regularly use the grinder, you will know how frustrating it is to see a ton of resin stuck in the grinder’s holes and crevices. It is also a shame since any self-respecting grower wants to consume that rich resin accumulated over time. It is often so stuck that it is challenging to separate it from the grinder.

Many consumers use a knife to scrape the resin away from the grinder, but what are the best methods? There are different ways to extract the resin from a grinder depending on the type of grinder and the material with which it was made. Most of them are easy to make and very cheap since they can be made with materials that almost everyone has at their disposal. With all of them, you can clean the grinder perfectly, no matter how stuck the resin is.

For all grinders

The first method would be to put the grinder in the freezer. When trichomes cool, they become brittle. As the grinder cools, the trichomes will break off the metal and collect in the kief chamber (if you have one). If you don’t have it, you have to carefully remove the grinder from the freezer and tap it on a napkin or cloth. The longer you leave the grinder in the freezer, the more likely you will get the most trichomes. If the resin is still stuck in places that are difficult to access, a small brush will help us to remove 100% of the embedded resin.

For metal grinders

Another way is to disassemble the grinder and put it in a jar filled with isopropyl alcohol. Place the pieces carefully in the jar and let them rest for a while. The resin accumulated in the grinder will come off thanks to the effect of the alcohol. Once you have let the pieces rest for a while, you can pour the alcohol into a plate. Let the alcohol evaporate on the plate until all that remains is the resin from the grinder. Scrap it and bind it into a dough or smoke it directly. The most important thing is to make sure the alcohol has completely evaporated. This method is mainly recommended for metal grinders as alcohol can damage certain plastic grinders or other materials.

Boiling water

For plastic grinders, the best methods are the freezer or boiling water. To clean with boiling water, place all the shredder parts in a large pot of water, bring it to a boil, and remove the pot from the heat. Let cool for about 10 minutes, remove the pieces from the grinder, rinse or clean with a toothbrush, and then let the pieces air dry. Please do not use this method for metal grinders, as they can rust.

Getting to clean the grinder will help us have a clean grinder and what functions on the first day. But it will also allow us to enjoy an extraction that will make us fly to the top. You can also enjoy an intense flavor without added substances, 100% natural and of quality. Many consumers stock up on this extraction until they have a good quantity to craft a delicious ball of charas. Enjoy the multiple possibilities of the resin, its intense flavor, and its devastating effect, for some better than the effect of marijuana, while keeping your grinder in perfect condition.
